The original Tumbler Scaling Bag is handmade in Port Lincoln, South Australia, using commercial-grade materials. It is designed to reduce the mess involved in scaling fish and cleaning squid.

How it works

Place the catch in the bag and tow it in the boat's wake at approximately 7–9 knots. The rolling action cleans the contents as the boat moves. Cleaning time varies by catch and conditions; the original instructions indicate approximately 2–3 minutes.

Construction

• 36mm multi-filament tarred mesh to accommodate smaller fish
• UV-stabilised netting for strength and durability
• 8mm three-strand PE rope with a stated breaking strain of 0.70 tonnes
• EVA float with 650g buoyancy
• 316 marine-grade stainless-steel swivel and chain
• Complete stated breaking strength: 1350kg
